A connection to the countryside is at the heart of Patrick Ryan’s friendly personal.

Born and raised on a farm at Waubra, and schooled in a tight-knit community – people have always been a central part of Patrick's work and home life.

A couple of seasons shearing and working on farms in Victoria, News South Wales and South Australia, gave “Paddy” a thirst to study at Longerenong Agricultural College, obtaining an Associate Diploma in Applied Science Agriculture. From there, his attention turned to a Bachelor of Commerce at Ballarat’s Federation University.

It was more than 20 years ago, in 1997, his accounting career began. He worked his way up the ranks in Prowse, Perrin and Twomey; then co-owned TRG Accountants 2011 to 2018 – but he had a burning desire to follow his dream of opening his current Ryan & Co Accountants Pty Ltd.

Qualifications include; Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), and a Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip FP).

Outside of numbers, Paddy’s greatest loves are his wife and four children. “Family pursuits are ever-present, and this combined with activity on our small farm we live on, keeps one active and feeling alive.” Paddy has enjoyed involvement in school boards and finance committees, community bank boards, sporting club committees and junior football coaching.

“A great satisfaction is gained from sponsoring the Central Highlands Football Netball League, along with a number of other local football and netball clubs, and supporting charities such as drought angels.”
